The District of Columbia Urban Debate League (DCUDL) is always looking for those who want to support our efforts with DC’s public school students. Here are some of the ways you can help:
Support Debate in’08!

Contribute directly to the DC Urban Debate League by clicking on the button to the left. Every dollar counts and here is what your contribution can do:
- $2000 pays for the entire cost of one debate tournament
- $1000 pays for the staffing at one tournament
- $500 pays for the awards at two tournaments
- $300 pays for lunch at one tournament
- $250 pays for one teacher to be trained as a debate coach
- $100 pays for breakfast at one tournament
- $75 pays for the supplies at one tournament
- $45 pays for one debate team to participate at one tournament
- $25 pays for one debate manual for a teacher
- $15 pays for one students to participate at one tournament
Give Your Time

- Be trained as a judge
- Become a mentor or coach at one of our participating schools
- Volunteer with a committee of the DCUDL Board of Directors (Fundraising, Strategic Planning, Curriculum and Instruction)
- Coordinate a public debate in your community
- Call a local public school principal in support of joining the DCUDL
- Call a local public official in support of promoting the DCUDL
Provide In-Kind Support

- Donate materials to the League or a particular school (e.g., paper, pens, ink cartridges)
- Donate a computer or peripherals to a school’s debate team
- Donate video or photographic equipment (e.g., video or digital cameras)
- Donate services to the DCUDL (e.g., video editing, graphic design)
